The True Cost of Opportunities
The True Cost of Opportunities
Opportunities often come disguised as obligations. A new project, a new client, a new partnership – they all seem like great things, but they always come at a cost.
The true cost of an opportunity is not just the time and money you invest in it. It's also the opportunity cost – the other things you could have been doing with that time and money.
Every time you say "yes" to one thing, you are implicitly saying "no" to something else. This is why it's so important to be ruthless in protecting your time and attention.
Before you say "yes" to a new opportunity, ask yourself:
- Is this aligned with my purpose and goals?
- What will I have to say "no" to in order to do this?
- Is this the best use of my time and resources right now?
A _Company of One understands that not all opportunities are created equal. By being selective and saying "no" to the things that don't matter, you can create the space to say "yes" to the things that do.
