Empathy is the first stage of the Lean Analytics framework. The goal of this stage is to understand your target customers and the problems they face.
This is a qualitative stage, focused on getting out of the building and talking to potential customers. It's about developing a deep understanding of their needs, wants, and pain points.
The key activities in this stage include:
- Customer interviews: Talking to potential customers to understand their problems and needs.
- Surveys: Gathering quantitative data to validate your qualitative findings.
- Observation: Watching potential customers in their natural environment to see how they behave.
The goal of the empathy stage is to validate that you're solving a real problem for a real group of people. Without this, you're just building a product in a vacuum.
