Unique attributes are the specific features or capabilities that your product has and the Competitive Alternatives do not. They are your "secret sauce" – the things that only you can do.
These attributes can be:
- Technical features: A patented algorithm, a unique integration, or a superior user interface.
- Business model: A subscription model in an industry that typically uses a different model, or a "freemium" offering.
- Delivery model: A SaaS solution in a market dominated by on-premise software, or a mobile-first experience.
- Specific expertise: Deep knowledge of a particular industry or a proven track record with a certain type of customer.
It's important to have a clear and honest assessment of your unique attributes. They must be truly unique when compared to the real competitive alternatives from a customer's perspective.
Your unique attributes are the foundation of your Value (and proof). They are the "how" behind the "what" – the reason you can deliver a specific benefit to your customers.
