The People Analyzer

The People Analyzer

The People Analyzer is a simple tool for determining if you have the right people in your organization. It provides an objective way to evaluate how well each person aligns with your company's core values.

How to Use the People Analyzer

  1. List Your People: In the first column, list the names of the people you want to evaluate.
  2. List Your Core Values: Across the top, list your company's core values.
  3. Rate Each Person: For each person, rate them against each core value using the following scale:
    • + (plus): They exhibit the core value most of the time.
    • +/- (plus/minus): They sometimes exhibit the core value.
    • - (minus): They do not exhibit the core value most of the time.
  4. Set the Bar: As a leadership team, determine the minimum standard for what constitutes a "right person." For example, you might decide that to be a right person, an employee must have at least three "+" ratings and no "-" ratings.

The Three-Strike Rule

If someone falls below the bar, you can use the three-strike rule to give them an opportunity to improve:

  1. Strike One: Discuss the issues and give them 30 days to improve.
  2. Strike Two: If there's no improvement, have a second conversation and give them another 30 days.
  3. Strike Three: If there's still no improvement, it's time to part ways.

The People Analyzer is a powerful tool for creating a culture of accountability and ensuring that you have a team of people who are all aligned with your core values.
